Gregory H. Adamian Award for Excellence in Teaching

The Teaching and Scholarly Activities Committee is accepting nominations for the 2013 Gregory H. Adamian Award for Excellence in Teaching. This prestigious award, endowed by Dr. Adamian in 1979, recognizes particularly exceptional, knowledgeable and inspirational individuals at Bentley. The winner(s) are announced at Commencement. Alumni are invited to review the criteria and submit nominations by February 15, 2013.

Jonathan White Named Director of Service-Learning

Bentley University has named Jonathan White, PhD its new Director of Service-Learning, replacing Edward Zlotkowski, one of the founders of Bentley's Service-Learning Center who had postponed his retirement to act as the center's director for the past two years. White comes to Bentley with an international reputation as a writer, speaker and teacher; he most recently taught at Bridgewater State University while serving for three years there as service-learning coordinator. Honoring the Life and Legacy of Professor Richard (Dick) Cross

On December 20, the university learned of the passing of Richard (Dick) Cross, accountancy faculty of nearly 40 years. With the help of friends, family and former students, our Bentley community will honor the life of Professor Cross at an on-campus memorial service. Alumni are welcome and encouraged to attend the service, which will be held Tuesday, February 19 at 5:00 p.m. in the Wilder Pavilion in the Adamian Academic Center. Succeeding at the Inventor's Business

On Wednesday, February 27, Bentley's new Center for Integration of Science and Industry will host an inaugural symposium titled "Succeeding at the Inventor's Business." Alumni are encouraged to attend the event, which will bring to campus five speakers who have had tremendous success in translating cutting edge technologies into successful products and businesses. This symposium also marks the official opening of the Center, which supports a wide range of research by Bentley faculty, staff and students. Register to attend.

Association for Information Systems Lifetime Achievement Award Presented to Professor Robert D. Galliers

Bob Galliers, University Distinguished Professor at Bentley, received the prestigious LEO Award for Lifetime Exceptional Achievement in Information Systems from the Association for Information Systems (AIS). The award recognizes truly outstanding individuals who have made both a local and global impact on the field of IS, and who have served as role models to colleagues and students. Bentley is one of only two institutions in the world with more than one winner. Read more.

Taking Charge: Women's Executive Leadership Program

The Center for Women and Business and the Executive Education Department invite strong mid- to senior-level professionals to participate in the Taking Charge: Women's Executive Leadership Program for executive level leadership skills development, beginning February 28. Working together with senior graduate faculty members and executives, you will address the challenges faced in today's business landscape while applying the skills learned in each session in your current role.
